VanFish Industry Limited is a leading tuna fishing company based in Port Vila, Vanuatu, operating throughout the rich waters of the region. Our main port for processing and packaging is located in Port Vila. VanFish Industry Limited is renowned for producing high-quality, export-grade tuna products.
VanFish Industry Limited owns two vessels and has its own export/processing facility in Port Vila. We employ 3 captains and 40 crew members. Additionally, we have a shore-based management team that includes a Fishing Master.
Our fishery is part of the Vanuatu National Fisheries Program, managed by the Vanuatu Fisheries Department. The department is responsible for the efficient management and sustainable use of Vanuatu’s fisheries resources.
The program is managed using a Harvest Strategy that utilizes data to determine Recommended Biological Commercial Catch (RBCC). The RBCCs are determined using key scientific indicators to decide the Total Allowable Commercial Catch (TACC). TACCs are assigned to the main species in our fishery, including Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Striped Marlin, and Broadbill Swordfish.
VanFish Industry Limited works closely with fisheries observers, as well as scientists from various research institutions. Our vessels and operators have been credited for assisting in tagging studies for both Tuna and Swordfish, and we take pride in being the first choice for scientific studies and projects.
VanFish Industry Limited has owned vessels fishing in the region since its inception. We have steadily grown to become one of the biggest companies in Vanuatu’s tuna fishery, with the highest catch rates and quota holdings.
